Optimed Software Corporation to launch TELUS Health Space pilots targeting two million Canadians in Saskatchewan and Manitoba

Montréal, PQ, July 21, 2011 – TELUS Health Solutions today announced plans to expand its electronic medical record (EMR) ecosystem within Canada. Adding to the agreements with three other leading EMR providers, Optimed Software Corporation has agreed to connect their flagship solution Accuro®EMR to TELUS health space. Accuro EMR integration with TELUS health space allows patients and providers to access and share health information online from any location at any time over any device. In addition to the consumer pilots already targeting six million Canadians announced February 2011 Optimed plans to begin its TELUS health space pilots in Saskatchewan and Manitoba, targeting two million Canadians.

TELUS health space, powered by Microsoft HealthVault, is Canada’s first ehealth consumer platform that allows Canadians to manage their health information. Along with accessing personal health information, consumers have a number of other online tools including disease management, pediatric care, and health and wellbeing.

Reliable and trustworthy health information is loaded into a patient or consumer’s personal health record (PHR) via EMR functionality. Information flows into the PHR when:

• EMR is updated by a physician and data is automatically uploaded to a patient’s profile;
• Readings from patient’s medical devices such as blood pressure, glucose monitors, pedometers are directly uploaded to their PHR.
